Waltham – Miss Ann L. Fanara, of Waltham, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 in the home of her niece in Lancaster. She was 90.

Ann was born in Quincy on August 7, 1920, a daughter of the late Alfonso and Francesca (Vaccarello) Fanara, and had been a lifelong resident of Waltham. Until her retirement she worked as a group leader for the Raytheon Company in Waltham. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and beano.

She leaves her brother, Sam Fanara of Needham; her nieces and nephews, Alfonse Fanara, Frances Waldron, Janice Capozzoli, Alfonse Fanara, Joseph Fanara, Marie Deldon, Joanne Ferrera and Frances Bostic and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Ann was also a sister of the late George Fanara, Josephine Ferrera, and Frank Fanara.

Family and friends will honor and remember Ann’s life by gathering to visit on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
