Mr. William F. Utley, of West Newton, formerly of Watertown and Waltham, died Friday, April 15, 2022 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 81.

Bill was born on November 26, 1940, in Boston, one of thirteen children to the late Francis and Dorothy (McLaughlin) Utley. Raised in Brighton he lived many years in Waltham before moving to Watertown where he lived over fifteen years. He transitioned to West Newton Healthcare four years ago where he was a much loved resident.

Bill worked for Dunkin Donuts as a young man in the Brighton location at the corner of Market and North Beacon Streets and worked there almost forty years. He then worked in maintenance at the Perkins School in Watertown for over fifteen years.

He was a quiet, reserved, kind and polite gentleman all his life. Billy loved his Friday night card games with his brothers and trying his luck with the lottery. He walked everywhere all his life until the debilitations of inclusion body myositis prevented him from his daily exercise.

In addition to his parents, Billy is predeceased by his siblings, Francis 'Frank' Utley, Dorothy Stonebreaker, Marjorie Utley, Richard Utley, Michael Utley, Robert Utley and Rosemary Sheridan.

He leaves his siblings, Madeline Admirand of Waltham, Joseph Utley of West Newton, Ann Moruzzi of Arlington, James Utley of Avon and Timothy Utley of Hudson; also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family and friends will honor Bill's memory by gathering on Friday, April 22, 2022 in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, 990 Lagrange Street, West Roxbury, where his graveside service will be held at 11 am.

Memorials in his name may be made to West Newton Healthcare, Activities Fund, 25 Armory Street, West Newton, MA 02465.
