Matt Beauregard was born with the passion to fish in his blood. By the age of three, his grandfathers were showing him the ropes and instilling the discipline, skill and love for the sport. His family's cottage on Skatutakee Lake in Harrisville, New Hampshire, was truly his happy place. It was a place of joyful family gatherings and peaceful quiet moments on the lake. His greatest pleasure was sharing his love of fishing with his niece, nephews, young cousins and most recently his amazing girlfriend, Kelsey.

He couldn't wait to spend summer days at the cottage wake boarding, water skiing, enjoying life's simple pleasures, and of course, as much fishing as possible. In the kitchen Matt was a creative cook and took delight in experimenting and satisfying the unique taste buds of his love, Kelsey. His enthusiasm to try new things and his creativity was matched by his charismatic personality, infectious smile and friendly nature. Matthew was a people person who was at ease with young and old from all walks of life.

The color blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. It is considered beneficial to the mind and body and to have a calming effect. Perhaps with no coincidence Matt's dog…his best friend…was named Blue.

Matt Beauregard was also a dreamer. Life brought him joys and sorrows, triumphs and setbacks, challenges and struggles. Matt found eternal comfort of sweetness and peace on Saturday, April 18, 2020 when he died unexpectedly at home. He was 34.

Christmas Day in 1985 brought one of life's best Christmas presents. Matt was born to Peter J. and Victoria J. (Lodge) Beauregard at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester. A lifelong Shrewsbury resident he graduated from Shrewsbury High School with the class of 2004. He then studied at the University of Tampa as well as the University of South Florida. He later transferred to Worcester State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration.

As a loyal fan, Matt will cheer on his much-loved Boston Celtics from heaven. And taking good care of Matt in heaven now are his grandparents, Maurice and Janet Beauregard, his uncle, Alan Beauregard, and his best friend, Blue.

In addition to his parents, Peter and Vicky, Matt leaves his sisters, Lindsay Beauregard of Auburn and Jessica Sandell (Morgan) of Hingham; his niece, Mia and nephews, Leo, Oliver and Jack; the love of his life, Kelsey Parmenter of Ashby; maternal grandmother, Bette Jakola (Alan) of Gardner and maternal grandfather, Raymond Lodge (Virginia) of Statesboro, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Linda Harrington (Francis), David Beauregard (Deborah), Steven Beauregard (late Marion), Diane Nadeau (Wayne), Joan Conner (late Chuck) and Susan Orr; as well as many cousins and friends.

Funeral services are private.

Memorials in his name may be made to The Herren Project, P.O. Box 131, Portsmouth, RI 02871 or online at www.herrenproject.org/donate

I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.
