Maryellen Libitz's favorite numbers were 528, 4032 and of course the number 13. She was calculated with her lottery purchases and quite often successful with winnings. She also loved a good game of bingo and joyfully shouted BINGO when she won! Her other pleasures in life were simple...time spent with her immediate and large extended family. Christmas was the second best holiday to Halloween and her home was always an enchanted village with virtually every space decorated. Maryellen's favorite color was burnt orange...not orange but burnt orange. Notorious for seeking out bargains and sales she looked forward to her weekly outing with her daughters to take advantage of what she had seen advertised and more.

Maryellen died peacefully Saturday, August 17, 2019 in CareOne of Newton after a brief battle with cancer. She was 71.

She was a much loved fixture and dependable employee at J.S.C Transportation in Waltham where she worked as a monitor with them for over 17 years before becoming sick in September 2018.

Maryellen was born October 27, 1947 in Brighton one of seven children to the late Paul E. and Mary 'Shirley' (LaVelle) Fichtner and was a graduate of Saint Charles High School. On July 21, 1974 she married Thomas E. Libitz in Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Newton.

In addition to her husband of 45 years, Thomas E. Libitz Sr. 'Tommy', she leaves her children, Lianne M. Meek (Thomas St. Germain) of Marlborough, Mark C. Woolsey of Keene, New Hampshire, Thomas E. Libitz Jr. 'T.J.' of Waltham and Jennifer D. Tesorero (Duane) of North Billerica; her grandchildren Sarah Lugo (Emilio), Andrew and Ryan Meek, Emylee St. Germain - Wilkinson, Tiffany, Brittany, Kimberly and Kristin Woolsey, Evan S. Libitz; her grandpups, Soxx, Shooz and Koko; great-grandchildren, Hayleigh-Maree, Cerhenity-Lynne, Dante, Olivia, Jeremiah, Abbigayle; and her siblings, Paul Fichtner (Mary) of Revere, Francis 'Carl' Fichtner (Roberta) of Framingham, Catherine Sullivan (Edward) of Waltham. Marie Chalmers (David) of Watertown, Thomas Fichtner (Jeanne) of Mendon and Joseph Fichtner of New Hampshire; in-laws, nieces & nephews and her much loved dog 'Muggah'.

Family and friends will honor and remember Maryellen's life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial is private.
