Ms. Joan Stagliano, of Waltham, passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 after a lengthy battle with multiple illnesses.

She was born in Cambridge and later moved to Waltham with her family as a young adult. To close friends and family, she was fondly known as Joanie. Always willing to lend a hand or give a shoulder to lean on, Joanie was there for whoever needed it, whenever they needed it. She was honest and straightforward, always spoke her mind, and never held back. She loved music, and could often be heard and seen singing and dancing. She also loved to sketch and was quite the artist. To go along with her singing, dancing, and artistic talents, Joanie was quite the cook, as well, and could be found cooking in her family members' homes during holidays and family functions.

Joan was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Stagliano, and was also the sister of the late Maryann Cavallaro and Joseph Stagliano. Joan leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Mario Cavallaro and his wife Jennifer of Sudbury, Sandra Barbagallo and her husband Steven of Fitchburg, John Cavallaro and his wife Carrie of Leominster, Stephanie Stagliano McKenna of Florida, Lisa Maher and her husband Brian of Melrose, and Paul Stagliano of New Hampshire. She is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews and their families. Joanie will truly be missed by all, may she rest peacefully forever.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joan's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.), Waltham on Tuesday, May 31st from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
