Waltham - Ms. Helen E. Walker died at home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. She was 86.

Helen was born on July 24, 1932 in Waltham a daughter of the late Helen Bridget (Keough) Walker and Richard Steele Walker. Raised and educated in Waltham she was a graduate of Waltham High School. For over 30 years she worked as a secretary for the Massachusetts State Lottery retiring in 1997. She then worked part time for the Massachusetts Police Association as secretary in which she completed accident reports as well as part-time with Hallmark Company as a card stocker.

She was an avid photographer and beautifully captured the beauty of nature, flowers and birds in her pictures. She was also well travelled and enjoyed many trips around the world.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brothers Richard S. (Mary) Walker and John J. (Madeline) Walker and nephews, Douglas Walker and Robert Walker.

She leaves many nieces and nephews: Rick Walker (Ethel) of Andover, John E. Walker (Lenore) of South Padre Island, Texas, David Walker (Joanne) of Hewitt, Texas, Linda Reed (Alan) of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Ronald Walker of Pleasanton, Texas, Richard Walker of Texas, Deborah John (late Alan) of Kansas, Edward Walker (Michelle) of Fort Worth, Texas, William Walker of Weatherford, Texas, Marsha Jiava (Stephen) of Framingham; her great-grand nieces & nephews, Richie Walker, Elizabeth, John and Sara Walker, Christine and Kathleen Walker, Thomas and Renee John, Ashley, Christopher and Whitney Walker and Kellie Hoagland, Robert, Ryan and Rachel Walker; many great-great grand nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Helen's life by gathering to visit on Friday, October 12th, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
