Belmont - Fedora DePamphilis always knew the real fabric of her life was her family. But with fabric, needle and thread she was a very talented seamstress and worked even up until a couple of months ago. She made clothing out of any kind of fabric she could get her hands on including old coats, dresses and linens. At an early age in her native Italy she learned the art of sewing and in an era where women owned and operated businesses were few, she proudly worked from her well known shop 'Dor-Mar' in Cushing Square in Belmont. Countless wedding, bridesmaid and prom dresses put smiles on faces for the photographs that last a lifetime.

Fedora Circello was born in Torremaggiore, Province of Foggia, Italy on July 20, 1929 a daughter of the late Nicola and Angelina (Iannetti) Circello. She reminisced about her childhood in which her dad, an interpreter for the American Army during World War II and her mother who was a constant source of strength and wonderful caregiver. It was a simple home filled with love and kindness filled with tremendous sacrifice because of the era in which they lived. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 21 settling in Syracuse, New York. Perhaps one of the happiest days in addition to her marriage was the day her parents immigrated to the States as well.

She married Louis DePamphilis in Saint Joseph's Church in Somerville on April 29, 1956. They made Belmont their home since 1956 and married 37 years Louie died December 23, 1993. Life changed but did not end. Fedora readjusted to life as a widow and persevered after his death and even obtained her driver's license.

Fedora joined her much loved husband and parents on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. She died in The Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. She was 90.

A devout Catholic with a devotion to Saint Padre Pio she was a faithful communicant of Saint Luke's Church where she served as a eucharistic minister. Travel and cooking were among some of her favorite pastimes. Her garden provided plenty of ingredients for her sought after dishes. Trips home to Italy, the month of August on Salisbury Beach with family, visits to see Gino and his family in California and a recent trip to Aruba in 2019 were all memory making time spent with those who mattered most in her life.

One of Fedora's most familiar phrases 'Pray, hope and don't worry' will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of her family.

She leaves her children, Angela Sanscrainte (Bob) of Windham, New Hampshire, Gino DePamphilis (Debbi) of Vista, California and David DePamphilis (Laurie) of Windham, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Rebecca and Katherine Sanscrainte, Juliana and Luciano DePamphilis, Nicolas, Christina and Michael DePamphilis; her brothers, Michael Circello of California and Vincent Circello (Ruth) of Louisiana; nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Fedora's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, June 12th from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Joseph's Church, 130 Common Street, Belmont where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.
