Mrs. Agnes Maureen (Dunphy) Shea, of Waltham, died at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She was 91.

Born on January 9, 1927 in Palmer, Massachusetts she was a daughter of the late Henry Dunphy MD and Helena B. (Santos) Dunphy. She graduated from Palmer High School and later attended Simmons College in Boston for two years. She later attended St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Brighton where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1949. Maureen worked as a post-surgical nurse at Boston City Hospital. Maureen looked forward to her trips to the Berkshires and summer vacations in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. She maintained her friendships with nursing friends at St. Elizabeth's and enjoyed the visits from her neighbors and hosting them at the many parties at her house. She adored her husband Paul and he often referred to her as 'My Happiness' and she was often depicted in many of his watercolors. They are now reunited in heaven. Maureen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband, Paul she is predeceased by her siblings, Edward, Charles, William and Henry Dunphy Jr. and Helene Papirio and brother-in-law, Frank Shea.

She leaves her children, Paula Vizard and her husband, Joseph of Waltham, Maureen Dowse and her husband, Rev. James of Bristol, ME, Michael Shea and his wife, Beverly of Waltham, Carol Shea Copan of Wiscasset, ME, Kevin Shea and his wife, Angelic of Newburyport, Brenda MacGovern and her husband, Edward of W.
