Condolence & Memory Journal

To: Maryanne,Diane ,Tony, Brian & Family.
Please let me start by saying how deeply saddened Liz & I are to hear the news of Don's passing! Your Dad and I have had many conversations over the years and I have to say was a true role model for so many of our drum corps family. To me he was a father figure, a man of integrity, class, passion, honesty(even when you didn't want to here it). A man of Faith and love. I could probably write a best seller on all the things we did growing up that you father would would raise an eyebrow with curiosity ! From our first DC trip to Poughkeepsie NY. to Montreal Canada ! There are so many wonderful memories. And do I dear mention his Sunday fashion statement!! Please let all these memories soften your hearts because I know I will. Love and peace to all.

My sincere condolences to the entire Murphy Family. I have enjoyed my friendship with Brian over the years and quite sad to hear of his father Donald. You are all in my prayers.

Don was manager of the drum corps when I was drum major. Technically I was an adult, but still susceptible to the whims of youth, Don would always take me to task and hold me to high standards. I am forever thankful for his influence and guidance during those years, and for his steady leadership of a group that has been a source of friendship, pride and joy my entire life. I offer love and sympathy to Mary Ann, Diane, and Brian, for your loss. And, thanks for sharing Don with the rest of us. I wish you all peace.
