"so sorry to the Mcgovern family a huge loss to Waltham schools. He was one of my favorite teachers @ Whittomore & South Jr. High. I was always in trouble & he would take the time to talk to me & check on me to lead my life in a different direction. I deeply thank him for his kind & loving words. "Mr. McGovern was one of my favorite teachers at South. He didn't talk down to us or treat us like children. I remember him telling us about going to see Bruce Springsteen before he was 'The Boss" and how you never know how people are going to turn out later. I just heard today that he was gone. It made me very sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his friends and family and former students who will miss him."

Whittemore School in Waltham. He was the Best Teacher Ever. He always made us laugh. Then when it was recess he took the whole class out and we played kick ball."
