Laurianne (Chevarie) Duguay Obituary

Watertown - Mrs. Laurianne (Chevarie) Duguay, formerly of Waltham, died on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Boston Medical Center. She was 88.

Laurianne was born on October 28, 1933 in St. Ignace, New Brunswick, Canada a daughter of the late Nazaire and Suzanne (Gallant) Chevarie. Raised and educated in Canada was married on September 3, 1955 in her native St. Igance to Emile Duguay. They immigrated to the United States in June of 1964 settling in Waltham. After Emile's death on January 8, 1999 she later moved to Watertown where she has lived over twenty years.

In addition to raising her seven children, Laurianne had a private business of house keeping. She and Emile were once active members of the French American Club and enjoyed many of its social events, especially dancing. She was the much loved 'Memere' to her own four grandchildren but considered the same by so many others.

In addition to her husband, Emile she is predeceased by their son, Denis Duguay († January 18, 2021) and her siblings, Armand, Ernest and Camille Chevarie, and Irma Collette.

She leaves her children, Sr. Ginette Duguay SCO of Mattawa, Ontario, Canada, Gilles Duguay of Redwood City, California, Albeo Duguay (Paula) of Maynard, Nicole Thetonia (Frank) of Marlborough, Paul Duguay (Sheila) of Watertown, Dean Duguay of Folsom, California; loving Memere to Keegan and Grace Duguay and Frankie and Amber Thetonia; her siblings, Emilie Chevarie, Alyre Chevarie, Marie Germaine Richard, Laura Thibeau and Emilienne Voutour; also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Laurianne's life by gathering for calling hours in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, February 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.
