Dear Belinda and family,
Myself and my family are deeply saddened by the lose of Henri. He was an amazing man and generous spirit. You may not know this but Henri saved the life of my daughter in law, Maureen Nguyen (Fitz-Gerald), a Genzyme employee. It's a very long story but Henri personally provided health insurance for Maureen while she awaited a heart transplant. She is alive today because of his generosity. I also served as an Overseer for the Boston

Dear Termeer Family,

I had the pleasure of meeting Henri when we represented opposite sides of a biotech commercialization deal. He brought vision, fairness and creativity to every negotiation. Later, I asked him to join the Board of Directors of an early stage biotech company. Despite being a very busy man, he accepted in the spirit of making a contribution to good science and patients in need. Over many years, Henri was the consumate professional and gentleman. I thank him for

Dear Henri,
It is so hard to say good bye to you. I thought I would write this letter that I would have loved you to read if I had the magic to reverse time and space.
I would like you to know that the three virtues I learned from you were: generosity, authenticity and grit.
But what you really showed me is that if you want to live by these virtues you need resilience.
You need resilience to stay generous on

Dear Belinda and Adriana,

We are heartbroken by your loss and will forever be indebted to Henri for all he has given to us. He welcomed us individually to Genzyme family over 25 years ago and shaped our respective careers filled with impactful and rewarding work. We met at his BSCP awards ceremony in 1998 and from there began our own lives together as a couple and eventually as a family. He was a visionary and compassionate leader and served as

Dear Belinda:
So many of us in the biotech community cut our teeth at Genzyme (I was in Kendall Square 1993-2006). It is an honor to claim Genzyme as my own, and the experience working in the culture that Henri built and nurtured was my real education. I am thankful I had the lucky opportunity to have found myself in his universe. We carry on his legacy through our continued pursuit of medicine, pushing the boundaries and remaining true to patients. I send all of the best to you and the family during this trying time.

Belinda and family,

I am so sad and sorry for your loss. I am a Gaucher patient who benefited from Henri's vision, compassion and preservance. I was diagnosed back in 1990 and was amazed at how Henri and therefor Genzyme treated the patients. I met Henri many many times over the years. He made it his business to know me and my son. When we spoke he was always concerned how I was feeling, was Genzyme helping me with everything
